Made in Australia
A lead made
from rope.
Nothing else.
No stitching to rot. No plastic to crack. No hardware to rust. One length of rope, spliced by hand, built to outlast everything else you own.
The idea
Every lead you've ever owned failed the same way.
The stitching gave out. The clip snapped. The nylon frayed into fuzz.
So we removed everything that can fail, until only the rope was left.
Construction
Spliced, not stitched.
A stitch punches holes in the thing it holds together. A splice does the opposite — the rope is opened, fed back through itself, and buried under its own tension. Loaded, it only tightens.
It's the same join sailors have trusted with their lives for centuries. There is no stronger way to end a rope. There isn't a close second.
- Join
- Hand-spliced eye, full bury
- Rope
- Double-braided, marine grade
- Weak point
- None. That's the point.
Hardware
One carabiner.
Rated like it matters.
A locking climbing carabiner — not a spring clip stamped out of pot metal. The same hardware trusted at thirty metres off the deck, holding a dog at the end of your arm.
- Rating
- 20 kN gate-closed — roughly two tonnes
- Gate
- Screw-lock. It cannot open itself.
- Body
- Anodised alloy. Salt-water proof.
- Swivel
- None needed — the splice rotates freely.
Proof
Guaranteed for life.
Not the product's life. Yours. If a Rope Lead ever fails under normal use, we replace it. No receipt ritual, no fine print, no "within 12 months".
This counter starts the day Lead #001 is spliced, and it never resets. Right now it's zero — we're not going to pretend otherwise.
First run
The first batch is numbered.
Lead #001 through #100. Each one spliced by hand, stamped with its number, and recorded on this site for the rest of its life. Leave your email and we'll hold a number for you.
